Generate the job
Click Generate in the top bar.
This processes your artwork and settings into the actual job output. You need to generate before you can preview, send, or export.
While generating, the button shows a loading indicator.
Watch for stale output
If you change settings or artwork after generating, the output may no longer match what is on the canvas. Generate again before sending.
Switch between Canvas and Preview
After generating, two view buttons appear: Canvas and Preview.
Canvasis for editing. Use it to make changes.Previewshows the generated output. Use it to check the result before running the job.
What to check in Preview
Look for:
- the correct size relative to your work area
- the correct position on the canvas
- the right level of detail, fill, or line quality
- anything unexpected near the edges or outside the intended area
If the result looks wrong, switch back to Canvas, adjust settings or artwork, and generate again.
Dry Run and Framing
Dry Run (Laser Off) - runs the full machine movement without activating the laser. Use this for a safe final check of the machine path before committing to a real run.
Framing (Low-Power Outline) - traces the outer boundary of the job at very low power on the real material, so you can check placement before the full run. You can adjust Frame Power and Frame Feed Rate for your machine. Frame power is capped at 50%.
Both options are in the sidebar.
Send the job
When your controller is connected and the output looks right, click Send.
To run the same job more than once, set the count with Repeat / Passes in the top bar before clicking Send.
Export the output
Use the Export dropdown in the top bar to save the output as a file:
Export G-code- saves the machine output fileExport Preview SVG- saves a vector preview of the generated resultExport Preview PNG- saves an image preview
Export options are only available after generating.
Preview quality
In Settings > General, you can adjust Preview Quality (All Modes):
Low (Fast)- faster, lighter on resourcesMediumHighUltra (Slow)- most detailed, slowest
There is also Always use SVG preview when available, which uses a more detailed vector preview on supported jobs.
The quality setting affects how Preview looks on screen. It does not affect the generated job output or what gets sent to the machine.
