How to connect
Click Connect in the top bar.
The dropdown opens and shows Laser Devices, a list of saved or discovered devices.
Find your laser in the list and click it. When the connection succeeds:
- the top bar button shows
Connected - the device card shows
Connected - the active port is shown in the dropdown
Refresh the device list
If you plugged in your laser after Light Lane was already open, click the refresh button inside the connection dropdown. The list will update to show newly available devices.
Rename a device
Each device card has a pencil icon labeled Rename device. Use it to give your laser a clearer name instead of a raw port identifier.
Advanced: Raw Port Picker
If your laser does not appear in the device list, try Advanced: Raw Port Picker.
This shows all serial ports currently available on your computer. Pick the port manually and click Connect Selected Port.
Use this when the cable is connected but Light Lane has not matched the device automatically.
Disconnect
When connected, the dropdown shows Disconnect Controller.
Light Lane prevents disconnecting while a job is actively streaming to the machine.
