Licensing and Activation
This page explains how to activate Light Lane on your device, manage your license, and handle offline (air-gapped) scenarios.

Open licensing settings
Go to Settings, then click the Licensing tab.
Sign in
If you are not signed in, enter your Email and Password, then click Sign In.
Activate your device
After signing in, click License Activation if the device needs to be activated.
The activation wizard asks how you want to activate:
Online Activation- requires internet access. This is the simplest option for most users.Air-gapped Activation- for machines with no internet access. Uses a code exchange with the licensing portal.
Online activation
- Sign in to your account
- Select a subscription from the list
- Click
Activate
If your subscription does not appear, click Refresh subscriptions to update the list.
Air-gapped activation
Choose Air-gapped Activation in the wizard and follow the steps shown in the app.
This involves generating a request code in Light Lane, completing the activation on the Light Lane website using another device, and entering the response code back into the app.
Trials
A free trial is available if your account is new and your device has not previously been used with Light Lane.
If you are eligible, the licensing page shows:

While a trial is active, the page shows Your Pro trial is active, along with options to upgrade or view available plans.
Refresh a license
If your license uses a periodic lease, a Refresh section appears in the licensing area.

Refresh Now - Air-gapped: follow the offline request-and-response steps shown in the app
Deactivate a device
To move your license to another machine, deactivate the current device first.
- Online: click
Deactivate - Air-gapped: use
Deactivate and Generate Code, then complete the deactivation on the portal using another device
If you are also signed in, you may be prompted to deactivate before signing out.
Sign out
Use Sign Out in the account section of the Licensing tab.
If the device is still activated, you may be prompted to deactivate it first.
Manage your devices
If your account has device information available, the Devices section shows:
- device name
- platform
- activation status
- last seen date
You can review which devices are currently activated from this view.
Tips
- Use online activation whenever the machine has internet access.
- Before moving your license to a new machine, deactivate the old one.
- If you are on a trial, upgrade before it ends to avoid any interruption.
- Air-gapped activation requires access to the Light Lane website on a separate device to complete the code exchange.
